Les Marchands Passport Series

Join Les Marchands Restaurant & Wine Shop as they continue their popular Passport Series, bringing the food, wine and culture from remarkable wine-producing regions around the world to Santa Barbara. The series offers guests a rotating menu of seasonal and regionally inspired dishes created by Chef Weston Richards. The food, along with excellent wine suggestions by Acme Hospitality Wine Director Hayden Felice, are influenced by the culture, ingredients, techniques and flavors that define each destination. For May and June, join the team of Les Marchands and toast a delightful experience – Passport to Portugal – with a peek into this country’s renowned cuisine and spectacular wines from grapes grown in one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world.

Whether one is looking for a jam-packed stopover in Lisbon, the capital in the south or a visit to medieval Porto to the north, or perhaps a leisurely drive discovering some of many villages along the rich Douro winemaking region, Portugal has much to offer the curious novice or epicurean. Les Marchands will be the guide on this cultural journey with a plethora of dining and wining opportunities. Vast varieties of fresh fish plucked straight from the waters of the Atlantic Ocean can be found in virtually every neighborhood along with regional cheeses, breads, linguiça and local produce from the farms.

 

Chef Weston’s Passport to Portugal menu emphasizes the unexpected which is central to Portuguese cuisine. Wine Director Hayden Felice selects some of the finest wines from Portugal to be featured and tasted with Chef Weston’s menus during the Passport to Portugal. Regional wines to complement Chef Weston’s dishes can be ordered by the glass, carafe and bottle, all of which are a true reflection of the region’s terroir. The talented bar team at Les Marchands creates their take on Portuguese libations to kick-off their nightly Social Hour, Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Les Marchands hand-crafted Portuguese cocktails are paired with Chef Weston’s authentic small bites and are only available during Social Hour.

Les Marchands’ Passport to Portugal rotates nightly according to market availability and is priced à la carte. Passport specials are offered in addition to our nightly seasonal menu and feature regional Portuguese specialties including salt cod, white beans, housemade sausage, and piri piri chicken.
